… since I’m posting from email on my phone.
So, I’d just gassed up in Trinidad, Colorado, and gone through the Wendy’s at Exit 11 on I-25 for some food. The weather was overcast, but it wasn’t bad. The roads were good, and then ten miles down the road, they turned really, really bad.
Literally, it went from great to slick just as we hit the 1-mile marker going towards the New Mexico border. We were coming up around the curve, I eased off of the accellerator, I lost traction, caught it again briefly, and that’s what caused us to spin out. We smacked the guardrails on both sides of the road – only on the passenger side, oddly enough – and came to rest in the middle of the road with hood on the street, hanging on only on the driver side.
The police were called by the nice gentlemen who pulled up behind us. I barely had signal to text, not enough to call anyone reliably. The tow truck took about an hour to get there thanks to the other four accidentat the same time. More later…
