I just did something that I wasn’t planning on doing, like, ever.

I’ve had Cassidy’s mom’s email address for a while. I got it when I was looking for their address after one of the letters I sent came back. I’ve never used it, but it’s one of the few ways to keep track of her on the web.

So… I sent an email asking if I could send Cassidy a card this week.

I’m still shaking. I don’t know if I did the right thing. I feel like it was an act of desperation, and I feel kinda bad for giving in to it.

But… yeah.

I don’t know.

I don’t think there is every anything wrong with reaching out once in a while.. you never know, she is old enough that she might be wondering about things, including you if she knows the truth.

Had something similar with my brothers children after he died and the mother kept them from our family. We still sent cards and they were always invited to family gatherings. One of them just happened to get the mail one day and saw a card, which was also being kept from them. Now almost 12 years later, we have our three nieces back in our lives, as much as they want to be and it was just because they caught a card that knew we still cared about them.

My dad, who never knew his bio-father, but found out his address had sent a few letters thru the years. After them being returned to sender by the recipient he stopped trying..you don’t want that to happen if she is trying to reach you and just never knew how to reach you.
